Intermediate
Intermediate Training Course - All dogs over 9 months of age.
Having completed the basics to the required standard, sit, stay and heeling on the lead, then you will wish to move onto the Intermediate Training Course.
This is where both dog and handler can excel, we believe this is the second most important stage after puppy socialising, in your young dogs training. You will see your dog responding and maturing as his keeness to impress and learn takes over.
If your dog has been responding to retrieving and the "recall" is there, this is where he can be put to the test, to improve his steadiness and concentration. Most of this work will be done off the lead, allowing the dog to venture into cover, water and differing environments. Maybe the use of projectile launchers can be introduced at this stage, again the dog will be assessed at a distance to the shot.
Allways remember that at this stage in his young life, he is still a puppy, some dogs mature later than others, this will be assessed throughout his training and he will be encouraged in his training not forced. We also do not wish to rush his training, as this can be very detrimental later.
