Gary McCarthy - Proprietor & Principal Instructor. BSc(Hons) APDT.

Gary McCarthy, Proprietor and Principal Instructor of MAP Working Gundogs, has many years practical experience of training gundogs. He is a very keen shooting and trialing man who knows only too well the value of a properly trained working gundog. Gary has had great success in 2010 with everything from Guns Choice, COM (Certificate of Merit) 4th, 3rd and 2nd in Field Trials, also gaining 2nds and then wins in Novice and Open in working tests for the season, he is a regular member/ competitor for CRC (Clwyd Retriever Club) in team events and thoroughly endorses Clwyd Retriever Club as a "family club" welcoming all!!

Gary has had many years practical experience of working his gundogs in the field, from beating, picking up on organised shoot days with his spaniels in the early days of his education, to shooting over his own dogs on large sporting estates throughout the UK. Gary is also a committee member of Clwyd Retriever Club and competes with his dogs in all disciplines.He will always be seen in working tests and trials throughout the Country ( see gallery and competition results). Gary has overall responsibility for MAP Working Gundogs, teaching from puppy and novice to advanced level both in group classes and private lessons. Gary also develops and co-ordinates all training courses, particularly field trial training and shooting trips to Scotland in association with Case Sports, based in Dumfries & Galloway

Along with GUNDOG GEAR.CO.UK's proprietor Paul Davies, Gary has produced the most technologically advanced gundog training system.
