Various Breeds If you are thinking of acquiring a Gundog, speak to us first. We now have several breeds in our training sessions, from Labradors, English Springer Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and supporting the HPR Breeds we have a Brittany, Weimaraner and German Long Haired Pointer. It would be beneficial for both if you could spend time learning about the breed prior to purchasing or booking a pup from a breeder. Obviously each breed is bred for various roles within the shooting field, therefore if you only are a shooting person and require a peg dog then a Labrador would suit. But if you carry out beating tasks and Rough shoot then a spaniel is for you. But never dismiss the faithful HPR breeds as they really come into their own when on a rough terrain or a grouse moor. Once you have selected the breed that suits you best then its time to start basic training. This is where MAP Gundog Training will be required. To bring out the best in every breed we have various locations through out the North West to obtain the best ground for training. To excel at training and demonstrations it is best you have knowledge about your particular breed, to understand what the dog is capable of and know your dogs weaknesses. Through our network of trusted breeders and kennels we occasionally can point you in the right direction of a reputable Stud dog & Brood bitch, likewise should you have dogs for stud or a litter of Gundog puppies and wish to advertise them on this site then please contact us for further information. ___________________________________________________________________ |
